Linda Sugar, portraitLinda Sugar was raised in upper New York State. Her first stop of life lessons was in New York City where she studied the Masters informally in the museums and galleries and formally as an Art History Major at Queens College. In the early 70’s she climbed into a VW bus and headed west searching new lessons. Although her course was already set for San Francisco, she felt an affinity to New Mexico and almost stayed. After 30 years in San Francisco, she didn’t feel really at home until she returned to New Mexico in 2005. An accomplished painter, she captures action and energy drawing from New Mexico’s robust history and terrain.
